Who is the main catholic patron saint that is known for the protection over all people, animals, etc?

Like I stated in my question, who is the main catholic patron saint that is represented as the saint who protects all things including the sick/ill? I would really like to know please. I have been researching, but I get a variety of saints that are known for different things such as St. Nicholas the protector of children. But, I just want to know who the main saint is who watches over the majority of all people, animals, places, and everything else that he/she protects as well as guards over people who may have an illness (any illness not just one).
