Are black leather seats in a convertible a bad idea?

But they look so great! Do the seats just get too hot? Do the age and crack too easily? Or is it really not that big of a deal? I have had dark leather in all of my cars and enjoy it typically. Just wondering if this is bad idea in a convertible.
